Abstract |
The object of this paper is to evaluate the change of the mechanical properties caused by welding and other process in HN1 and HN2 steel candidated as structural materials of nuclear fusion reactor. The conventional test methods such as fracture toughness tests, Charpy impact test and tension test for measuring mechanical properties require the removal of large samples from in-service components and are also difficult to investigate not only local region such as fusion line but also heat affected zone. In this study, the small punch(SP) test was used to detect the integrity of the weldments at 77K and 4.2K As results of this study, it could be known that mechanical property of weldments obtained from each of location in weldments may markedly decreases by nitrogen contents at 4.2K. It can be concluded that each of microstructures in weldments may reveal diffrent mechanical properties according to the extracted location of the SP specimens.
